Charlotte Heath of England shot a final round of 73 (+1) to win the 2026 La Sella Open by two shots for her first victory on the Ladies European Tour.
Coming into the final round, Heath held a four-shot lead over Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and Dorota Zalewska. She held a five-shot lead over Shannon Tan, Alice Hewson and Helen Briem. Briem challenged Heath after making three birdies in 12 holes. Heath lost her lead briefly after a bogey on the front nine but reclaimed it after a bogey and a double bogey from Briem. A back nine of 36 (E) was enough for Heath to hold onto her lead and win the 2026 La Sella Open.
“It’s incredible. This year, I’ve gone out in the leading group twice before, so I guess it’s third time lucky,” she said.
After a rocky start to her round, Heath avoided looking at the leaderboard, and her caddy Alex Long stayed away from the topic.
“I had no idea where I stood, and I think Alex knew I didn’t want to know,” she said. “I saw after nine holes that it was getting tight, but that was the only time I looked at a scoreboard.”
With her win, Heath earned €150,000 in prize money and 500 points in the LET’s Order of Merit.
Alice Hewson and Alessandra Fanali finished in a tie for second place. For Hewson, it was a great finish in a special place.
“It’s been a really solid week. I played some nice golf out there and probably didn’t hole as many putts as I would have liked. La Sella is always one of my favourite stops on tour, and having my whole family here made it even more special,” she said.
For Fanali, it was an unexpected result, but she was happy to record her best finish of the season.
“I’m really happy. I wasn’t thinking about the result this week. I was just trying to enjoy my golf again and play well. I wasn’t expecting to be in contention, so I’m very satisfied,” she said.
Casandra Alexander finished T25 after a final round of 74 (+2). She remains in first place in the LET’s Order of Merit. Carmen Alonso failed to make the cut in her final start on the Ladies European Tour after recording rounds of 76 (+4) and 77 (+5).
The Ladies European Tour continues next week at the Buccellati Ladies Italian Open at Golf Club Milano. Amy Taylor is the defending champion.
