The LPGA Tour continues its Asian swing this week at the 2026 BMW Ladies Championship. This is the seventh edition of the tournament and the second time it will be hosted at Pine Beach Golf Links. The BMW Ladies Championship is a 72-hole, stroke play event with no cut.
Sei Young Kim is in the field this week to defend her title after her four-shot victory over Nasa Hataoka last year.
Pine Beach Golf Links is a par 72 playing 6,784 yards. The golf course, which opened in 2009, was designed by Gary Roger Bade and David Dale. The purse for the 2026 BMW Ladies Championship is $2.35 million with the winner receiving $352,500.
Who to Watch at the 2026 BMW Ladies Championship
Fourteen of the top 25 players in the Rolex Rankings are in the field this week, with Haeran Ryu and Hyo Joo Kim at the top of that list. Fifteen players from the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) will join the LPGA players this week.
After winning the 2025 BMW Ladies Championship, Sei Young Kim is looking for her first win of the 2026 season. Kim has made the cut 14 times in 17 starts, with her best finish of T2 coming at the JM Eagle LA Championship in April. Kim has finished inside of the top 20 in her last three starts.
It has been a breakout season for Ryu, who won the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the Amundi Evian Championship. Ryu is the top-ranked Korean golfer in the world. After a few months as a two-time major winner, Ryu still cannot believe her season.
“2026 has indeed been a memorable year. This year has been a dream, somebody pinch me. We have five events left. I could say I want to bag more wins, but I am just happy to be here. Happy with where I am at this year. And I want to enjoy the luxury of being able to just enjoy the game,” she said.
This is Ryu’s first event since the FM Championship in August.
Top-ranked KLPGA golfer Minsol Kim is looking to continue her excellent season with a win this week. In 2026, M. Kim has won the IM Financial Group Open 2026, Mercedes-Benz the 40th Korea Women’s Open Golf Championship and the McCol · Mona Yongpyong Open with SBS Golf.
“If I win, I plan to go straight to the LPGA next year. Not sure what it will take to win, but I think as a KLPGA player I am relatively free from pressure, so I can take that and play aggressively, rookie style. I will do my best,” she said.
