The LPGA plays its only tournament in Ohio this week at the 2026 Kroger Queen City Championship in Cincinnati. The tournament will be held at Maketewah Country Club.

This is the fifth playing of the tournament, and the first time the event is being played at Maketewah Country Club. This is also the first time the tournament is being held in the spring. Last year, Charley Hull narrowly defeated Jeeno Thitikul to win at TPC River’s Bend.

Maketweah Country Club is a par 70 playing 6,423 yards. The course was designed by Tom Bendelow in 1910, but Donald Ross furthered the design in 1929. The last major remodel of the course was done by Brian Silva in 2022. An interesting feature of the golf course is that both holes 9 and hole 18 are par 3s. The tournament’s purse has remained the same at $2 million.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Kroger Queen City Championship

One of the biggest storylines this week is that Nelly Korda and Jeeno Thitikul will compete in the same tournament for the first time since the Chevron Championship, where Korda claimed the title.

Thitikul has played very well to start the season, winning last week at the Mizuho Americas Open and at the Honda LPGA Thailand in February. She has won twice in the same season for the last three seasons.

Korda has been the best player in the world this year, with wins at the Chevron Championship, Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba and the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. She has also finished as the runner-up in the three other tournaments she has played. Korda reclaimed the world number one title from Thitikul after losing it in August of 2025.

After her dominant start to the season, Korda credits her mental strength as the best part of her game.

“Sometimes I feel like in the past I’ve been very scared to make mistakes, and that’s locked me up a little bit. So just kind of trying to stay free on the golf course, knowing my swing is not going to be perfect every week. Maybe to the outside, they don’t see as precisely what I see, the detailing of my golf swing. For me, as long as I stay mentally fresh, that’s the most important,” she said.

Last year’s winner, Charley Hull, is making her seventh start this season. After dealing with an ankle injury this year, Hull has four top 20s on the LPGA Tour this season, along with a win at the PIF Saudi Ladies Invitational in February on the Ladies European Tour. She says it’s just another part of life.

You just got to deal with it, really, do you know what I mean? It’s just part of life. I’m still living life, living a good life. It’s just a little bump in the road,” she said.
