The LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour host the fourth major of the year at the 2026 Amundi Evian Championship. This is the 36th playing of the championship, and the 13th playing since it became a major in 2013. The 2026 Amundi Evian Championship will be played at Evian Resort Golf Club.
Last year’s winner Grace Kim will look to defend her title after her unbelievable finish last year, defeating Jeeno Thitikul in a playoff for her first career major win. There is now a plaque on the tree near her chip-in birdie en route to her victory.
Evian Resort Golf Club is a par 71 playing 6,479 yards. The course was opened in 1904 but redesigned in the late 1980’s by Cabell B. Robinson. The purse for this week is $9.1 million, with the winner receiving $1,365,000.
Who to Watch at the 2026 Amundi Evian Championship
23 of the top 25 ranked golfers in the world and 10 previous winners of the Amundi Evian Championship are in the field this week.
After winning her first major last year, Kim has had a decent 2026 so far. She has made nine cuts in 10 starts this year, with her highest finish of T7 coming at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. Kim said her mentality has improved since becoming a major winner.
“In terms of self-confidence, it’s boosted a lot. But, you know, golf can really humble you quite quickly, so in the times where it does get tough, I think I do handle myself a lot better. My aim and purpose hasn’t changed much in that way, so just making sure I reiterate the good things my team has put in me; energy and time as well,” she said.
World number two Jeeno Thitikul is in the field this week, searching for her first career major victory. With nine career wins, including the last two CME Group Tour Championships and two wins this season, a major trophy is the last missing piece for her young career. After coming so close last year at this tournament, Thitikul says the result was difficult to get over.
“It’s always going to be in my mind whatever happened last year, but I feel like it’s had a good and a bad, like stuff that always – and then you can’t let it go. Like you can’t, like, oh, I’m just going to let it go, and I don’t want to think about what happened, because if you really don’t and then tell yourself not to, it’s always going to be stuck in your mind,” she said.
When it is major week, Nelly Korda will always be in the conversation. After winning the Chevron Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open, Korda is looking to complete the Career Grand Slam this week. Her best finish at the Amundi Evian Championship is a T8 in 2022.
