The ninth edition of the Corales Puntacana Championship is this week in the Dominican Republic, marking the fifth time it’s been co-sanctioned between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
The winner of the event receives a two-year PGA Tour exemption (if not already exempt), 300 FedExCup points and spots in the 2027 Players Championship and PGA Championship. Last year, the event took place in April opposite of the RBC Heritage, but it was moved to July this year opposite of The Open Championship.
In the 2025 Corales Puntacanna Championship, Garrick Higgo won for the second time on the PGA Tour, defeating a group of five golfers by one stroke.
Higgo was asked in his recent pre-tournament press conference about defending his title. “I don’t feel extra pressure. Actually I think it’s going to be great, like I said earlier, having all those nice memories,” he said. “It’s nice to go to a tournament where you’ve played well…. I’m looking forward to playing on Thursday and giving it everything to win again.”

Corales Golf Course plays 7,670 yards as a par 72. Players will face challenges like difficult green complexes and potential high winds coming off the ocean. The closing three-hole stretch, called the Devil’s Elbow, is one of the toughest on the PGA Tour. Joel Dahmen, Stephan Jaeger, Scott Harrignton and Alexandre Rocha share the course record of 62 (-10).
Who to Watch at the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship
Higgo, Dahmen, Chad Ramey and Brice Garenett are looking for their second wins in the Dominican Republic. Just like last week at the 2026 ISCO Championship, 50 players of the 144 player field will be DP World Tour members.
We predict MacKenzie Hughes will earn his third career PGA Tour win. The two times he has played this event he has finished T2 and solo third, and he has had two top-10 finishes in his last four starts.
