The LPGA and Ladies European Tour are back after a break last weekend for the 2026 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open. The tournament will be held at Dundunald Links in Scotland. This is the tenth edition of the co-sanctioned event and the third with ISPS Handa as the sponsor.
Lottie Woad will be in the field this week to defend her title after she won her first event here as a professional last year.
Dundonald Links is a par 72 playing 6,543 yards. The historic course was designed by Willie Fernie and opened in 1911. The purse for the ISPS HANDA Scottish Open is $2 million, with the winner receiving $300,000.
Who to Watch at the 2026 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open
Despite the AIG Women’s Open being just a week away, this tournament has drawn an exceptionally strong field for a pre-major event. Nine winners on the LPGA Tour will be in the field alongside 13 winners on the Ladies European Tour.
After her win last year, Lottie Woad has continued her excellent start to her career. The 22-year-old won at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G in May and has four other top-10 finishes this year. Woad was happy to be back in the United Kingdom for a few weeks.
“Very excited to be back. Always love playing links golf and playing in the UK. So yeah, really nice to be back and see the course again. A little different to last year, but yeah, got the family here as well. So it will be a fun week,” she said.
Nelly Korda is playing in the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open for the first time in her career. The world number one is having a terrific season with wins at the Chevron Championship, U.S. Women’s Open, Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions and the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. Korda described her approach for links golf this week.
“It’s very different. I mean, you definitely have to hit more of like the imagination button, and depending on the weather that you get, I wouldn’t say this is a really, like, old school links golf where some of the greens are a little bit elevated. So it is tougher to run it up, as it is maybe like it would be next week. But yeah, you definitely have to be a little bit more artistic around this golf course,” she said.
Only two players from Scotland are in the field this week: Gemma Dryburgh and Hannah Darling. Both players received sponsor invitations to get into the tournament. Dryburgh described how she will stay calm in playing her national open.
“I’ve played it a few times now, so getting more used to it. The first time I played, I put a lot of pressure on myself to play well. And at the end of the day, it’s just another tournament. Just try and do my best and enjoy it. That’s the main thing,” she said.
