Nobody could stop Casandra Alexander on Sunday as she fired a final round 62 (-10) to claim her first title on the Ladies European Tour. Her final round, which had two eagles, was too much to overcome for others, and she beat Luna Sobron Galmes and Esme Hamilton by two shots to win the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.

It was a rough start to the week as Alexander shot a 73 (+1) to start her tournament. Her second round 64 (-8) put her six shots behind the leader, Kim Metraux, going into the final day.

Alexander’s round started quickly with two birdies in the first two holes. From there, she would eagle the par-5 seventh and add another birdie on the ninth hole. Three birdies on the back nine put her tied with Metraux going into the final hole of her round. A dramatic chip-in eagle on the last hole positioned Alexander as the leader in the clubhouse at -17 – plus a new course record. As the groups arrived, nobody was able to match her, and Alexander took home the trophy in the Czech Republic.

After winning the tournament after her start to the week, Alexander said, “I was fighting for my life on day two to make the cut, so unbelievably happy to walk away with the win, and definitely didn’t see it as an option earlier this week.”

Alexander will take home €45,000 in winnings and will move into fourth place in the LET’s Order of Merit.

The LET will be back in action next week at the Amundi German Masters. Two-time winner this season, Sara Kouskova, headlines the entries for the event.
