After winning the Jabra Ladies Open two weeks ago, Sara Kouskova continued her hot streak with another victory at the Tenerife Women’s Open. Her final round 71 (-1) led her to a one-stroke win over German Helen Briem.

Kouskova entered the final round on top of a packed leaderboard. She had a one-shot lead over Ana Pelaez Trivino, Noora Komulainen and Shannon Tan, with four other golfers two strokes behind. Kouskova got off to a quick start with birdies on the first two holes, followed by one on the par-5 sixth. After two consecutive birdies to start the back nine, she held a four-shot lead. A bogey on 15 and a double bogey on 16 dropped her lead down to one stroke with two holes to play. Kouskova made par on the last two holes to hold on for wins in back-to-back weeks.
Although down by one stroke going into the final round, Pelaez, Komulainen and Tan all scored a 37 (+1) to fall behind by four strokes leading into the back nine. It was too much of a deficit to overcome, and Pelaez and Komulainen finished tied for third, while Tan tied for sixth.
“It feels great to do it in a row like this,” said Kouskova after her win. “I’m speechless.”
With this win, Kouskova moves into second place on the Ladies European Tour’s Order of Merit. She trails three-time winner Mimi Rhodes by fewer than 200 points. She will take home €75,000 in prize money.
The LET will continue next week in Belgium at the Hulencourt Women’s Open. Cara Gainer headlines the entries for the tournament, looking for her second win of the season.
