After four rounds at the 2026 Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship, University of Southern California alum Christine Wang secured her first win on the Epson Tour since joining in 2024. Wang finished with a 13-under-68, allowing her to hoist the trophy up high.
After a successful Thursday where she shot 68, Wang found the strength to treat Friday as a fresh start.
“My only thought this morning was to pretend it was Round 1 again,” Wang said. “I usually have really good opening rounds and then put extra pressure on myself in Round 2, so that mental approach really worked.”
Wang’s positive outlook may have helped her steer clear of the cut line for this tournament, as she has made 6 of 13 cuts for the 2026 season.
Going into the fourth round, Wang held an impressive 3-stroke lead over Mirabel Ting and Cynthia Lu, both at 7-under. Wang went on to shoot all four rounds in the 60s, the only player in the field to do so this week. No. 63 on the Race for the Card points at the start of the week, the former Trojan now finds herself at No. 13 after receiving 500 race points.
The 24-year-old had a standout collegiate career before making her professional debut, but her accomplishments started well before she started playing golf for USC. At age 13, Wang won the Greater City of Houston Junior Tournament, and in 2019 she was named the Houston Chronicle Girls Golfer of the Year.
On her Instagram, which has amassed more than 28,000 followers, Wang shares what her life is like as a professional athlete. Through her relatable content and videos of recent online trends, she shows how she balances a golf career and personal life.
Another storyline to come out of this year’s Hartford HealthCare Championship was a course record set by Ting and Lauren Gomez. Gomez shot a 64 during her second round while Ting also managed a 64 during her third round to tie the 18-hole tournament course record. Ting and Gomez join Gina Kim (2025 Great River Golf Club), Amari Avery (2025 Great River Golf Club) and Amelia Lewis (2024 Great River Golf Club) with 64s at this tournament. Ting attributes the low round and course record to a mental reset.
“I feel like 100%,” she said. “I think it helps me know how to handle it better and try to not get myself ahead of things. I think that really helped me for today.”
The Epson Tour takes a two-week break before continuing August 6-8, 2026, at the Smoky Mountain Championship presented by Food City in Tennessee.
