Casey Jarvis won the 2026 Investec South African Open Championship by three strokes, his second victory in a row after clinching the 2026 Magical Kenya Open

The 22-year-old South African joins fellow countryman Jayden Schaper and Patrick Reed as multiple-time winners on the DP World Tour this season. Schaper also captured back-back-to titles earlier this season while Reed won two events in three starts

Jarvis entered the final round with a one-stroke lead over Henrie Du Plessis. His lead increased to three after making birdie on the first and fourth hole. He bogeyed the 10th hole but maintained a two-stroke lead with eight holes to play.

With a birdie on the 12th hole and back-to-back pars on holes 13 and 14, Jarvis increased his lead to three strokes. However, while he was standing on the 18th tee with a two-stroke lead, the horn blew and play was suspended due to lighting in the area. Jarvis, who dealt with this two times last week, was not fazed when play resumed. His closest competitor, Du Plessis, hit his approach shot into the water, ending any chance at playoff. Jarvis then two-putted for a closing round of 67 to seal his second-career win.

The win for Jarvis gained him invitations into the 2026 Masters Tournament and the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. This is the first year the winner of the South African Open has earned an invitation into the Masters Tournament. Jarvis has played in only one major in his career, the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst, where he missed the cut.

“It’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid to play at Augusta,” Jarvis said after his victory, “I thought about it this morning—I tried not to but it was hard not to think about it—but I cannot wait to go there and see how my game compares to the best players in the world.”

Jarvis was one of 31 South African golfers to make the cut in their National Open. Going back to 2018, the South African Open has been won by a South African golfer eight consecutive times. That explains why Jarvis was emotional in his post-round interview:

“I feel on top of the world in this moment, I feel absolutely incredible. To win in front of my home crowd in my home Open is just absolutely fantastic, I’ve got no words! I just had a slight feeling from the start of the week that something crazy was going to happen and it’s incredible.”

The DP World Tour will stay in South Africa for next week’s event in Johannesburg. The 2026 Joburg Open is the last event in the International Swing portion of the schedule. There, Calum Hill will look to defend his title against a field that includes Eddie Pepperell, Andy Sullivan and Patrick Reed.
