You’ve seen us write about Mimi Rhodes’ victories on the LET four times this season, in addition to her top-20 finish at the AIG Women’s Open.
So it’s no surprise that Rhodes was named the LET Rookie of the Year in China this past week, after her fourth win came as a team event in the Aramco China Championship.
At just 23 years old, Rhodes won in her fourth start on the LET at the Ford Women’s NSW Open in Australia, which she followed with a back-to-back win at the Joburg Ladies Open. Add in the Dutch Ladies Open victory, and Rhodes had dominated three of her four events within a span of two months.
“My rookie season has been very unexpected honestly – it’s been a good year,” said Rhodes. “It started off really well, so I’ve just been trying to keep playing solid golf and keep it going.”
Rhodes is the eighth Englishwoman to win the Rookie of the Year award. She follows in the footsteps of legends:
- Charley Hull (2013)
- Mel Reid (2008)
- Kirsty Taylor (2002)
- Elaine Ratcliffe (1999)
- Trish Johnson (1987)
- Laura Davies (1985)
- Kitrina Douglas (1984)
However, with one event left, Rhodes isn’t finished. She is just 219.26 points behind the LET Order of Merit leader, Shannon Tan, who has also had three individual wins this season. If Rhodes wins the Order of Merit, she’ll be just the eighth player to win both honors in the same season.
Rhodes said, “Winning the LET Order of Merit has been my number one goal since I got to the top of it, so I’m going to put up a big fight in the last event and hopefully, it will be enough. If not, I’ll be happy either way.”
It all comes down to the season finale – the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España – starting November 27, 2025.
