Alex Smalley and Maverick McNealy are the co-leaders after two rounds of the 2026 PGA Championship. They hold a one-stroke lead over a group of seven players sitting at 3-under.

Smalley has never led nor co-led in an individual stroke play event in his 140 starts on the PGA Tour. He has tied Aaron Rai for most birdies in the field – 10 – through 36 holes. He is looking for his first career win after being a runner-up three times in his career.

McNealy led the field in strokes gained tee to green to earn his second career lead/co-lead. His highest career finish in a major championship is T18 at the 2026 Masters. He will try to earn his second career win and first since the 2024 RSM Classic.

After the opening two rounds, there are 15 or more players within two strokes of the lead – this is only the third major championship where this has happened on the PGA Tour. This is the first time since the 2012 PGA Championship that the leaders/co-leaders haven’t gotten below 4-under at this point.

Defending champion Scottie Scheffler sits two strokes back after a second round of 71 (+1). Tournament favorite Cameron Young also sits two strokes back of the leaders after a second round 67 (-3).

Ben Kern is the only PGA Professional to make the cut after also shooting a 3-under 67 in round two. This is his third career PGA Championship and second time making the cut. He finished T42 in 2018.

Some notable players will not be playing this weekend at Aronimink. Tommy Fleetwood, Bryson DeChambeau, Keegan Bradley and Russell Henley all failed to make the cut this week.

The third round gets underway with the first group teeing off at 7:45am ET with Jhonattan Vegas and Alex Noren.
