Smilla Tarning Soenderby began the final round of the 2026 MCB Ladies Classic – Mauritius atop the leaderboard with Casandra Alexander and Celina Sattelkau.

Today, Soenderby eagled her sixth hole, a par 5, and mixed in a couple bogeys and a few birdies to tie the clubhouse leading heading to the 18th, a par 5. She hit the green in two and sank her birdie putt to secure her win by one. Soenderby won with her mother on the bag, something they haven’t experienced together in a long time.

“It was so nice to have my mum with me,” she said. “It reminds me of junior days when she used to come and caddie for me, and we haven’t done this since back then. It was so nice.”

South Africa’s Alexander and Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjäll tied for second, one stroke behind Soenderby.

“It was lovely! I was very close to that hole-in-one on 17 to win that week stay here, so I thought dang it. I will come back; I loved it so much,” said Arwefjäll. “My family really enjoyed themselves, they loved it. It was a ten out of ten. Maybe for it to be above a ten would have been to get the win.”

The low round of the day – and now the tournament’s current scoring record – was Anna Zanusso’s 63 (-9).

“It was a bogey-free round, I started playing very solidly and then at the end I finished with three birdies in the last four. I’m very happy with that round,” said Zanusso.

The LET’s Order of Merit leader Agatha Laisne has maintained her position thus far; she was the first-round leader here in Mauritius, but she ultimately placed in a tie for 5th, four strokes back of Soenderby. Alexander’s finish here in Mauritius has her creeping up on Laisne’s season-long lead, now just 46.05 points behind.

The LET returns to competition on May 14, 2026, in Hamburg, Germany, for the Amundi German Masters.
