Cameron Young won the 2026 Cadillac Championship, defeating Scottie Scheffler by six strokes. This is Young’s second win of the season, his first being the 2026 Players Championship.
Young dominated the field from round one, making him the second wire-to-wire winner of the season (Justin Rose / Farmers Insurance Open). This is the first time since the 2022 season that there were multiple wire-to-wire winners in one season.
In his nine starts on the PGA Tour this season, Young has five top-10 finishes. He is now the third-ranked player in the Official World Golf Ranking, leaping over Matt Fitzpatrick. Young joins Fitzpatrick and Chris Gotterup as the only players to win multiple times this season.
The only drama of the final round was when Young called a penalty on himself for making his ball move during his back swing. He was assessed a one-stroke penalty but still made par after sinking a 13-foot putt.
Scheffler finished runner-up for the third consecutive time, becoming the first to do so since Sergio Garcia in 2014. After a tough stretch to begin the year, Ben Griffin has now posted back-to-back top-10 finishes after his third-place finish this week and his T10 finish last week at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
In his post-round press conference, Young was asked about the roll he was on and how it sets him up for the next major. He said, “I think it sets me up well. I’ve been playing great, and the goal is just to put myself in a position to win as much as I can. There’s going to be days where it’s your day and you have a great Sunday and give yourself a chance.”
Next week the PGA Tour has another Signature Event, the Truist Championship at the Quail Hollow Club. Last year, the event took place at Philadelphia Cricket because the 2025 PGA Championship was being contested at its traditional venue, Quail Hollow Club. Defending champion Sepp Straka will look to defend his title against a field that includes Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and Xander Schauffele.
