After a thrilling U.S. Women’s Open at The Riviera Country Club last week, the LPGA Tour continues this week. They will be playing the first of two tournaments in Michigan, at the Dow Championship. Midland Country Club will host the tournament this week.
This week’s tournament features a unique format, with teams of two competing together. The first and the third rounds will be alternate shot, with the second and the final rounds played in the four-ball format. Due to the different format, U.S. Solheim Cup points and Rolex women’s world ranking points will not be allocated. Statistics will also not be counted towards players.
This is the seventh edition of the Dow Championship, with all tournaments being held at Midland Country Club. Jin Hee Im and Somi Lee will look to defend their title after their win over Lexi Thompson and Megan Khang in a playoff last year.
Midland Country Club is a par 70 playing 6,301 yards. The course was designed by Gilbert A. Currie and opened in 1928. The purse for the tournament is $3.3 million, with the winning team splitting $805,382.
Who to Watch at the 2026 Dow Championship

The field this week features 11 of the top 25 players in the Rolex Rankings. The star of the tournament is Nelly Korda, playing with Germany’s Olivia Cowan. Korda is having a historic season on the LPGA Tour, with wins at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions and Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. Korda has also won both of the majors so far this season at the Chevron Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open last week. Her partner, Olivia Cowan, is currently 182nd in the world and has played in just three events on the LPGA Tour this season.
Korda and Cowan met in Spain a few years ago, and they have played together before. Both Korda and Cowan have been joyful on social media and around the course this week. You’ve likely seen their video announcing their team name, “Legally Blonde.” In her press conference with Cowan, Korda’s message emphasized fun this week.
“We’re on the same page. But I think the thing about this event is that it’s so fun and it’s so unlike any other event that we get to do where we can rely on a teammate and play for a teammate, so it’s going to be a lot of fun, and I think it’s another way for us to create lifelong memories together, too. So I’m really excited,” she said.
Another exciting team to watch this week is the sibling pair of Chizzy and Aki Iwai. The talented sisters from Japan will look to be the second sibling pair to win a professional tournament this year after the Fitzpatrick brothers won the Zurich Classic on the PGA Tour in April. Aki owns one LPGA Tour victory, captured at the 2025 Standard Portland Classic, while Chizzy also has one LPGA Tour title to her name, earned at the 2025 Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba.
