The 2026 3M Open is the third-to-last regular season event of the 2026 PGA Tour season. In its 7 prior editions, the 3M Open has yet to experience a playoff or multiple- time winner.
Players will only have two more opportunities to play themselves into the top 70 of the FedExCup standings and earn a spot into the first playoff event.
In the 2025 3M Open, Kurt Kitayama defeated Sam Stevens by one stroke to win on the PGA Tour for the second time.
Kitayama had this to say about being the defending champion this week in Blaine, MN. “Coming back as the defending champ always feels good. You don’t get to do it that often. Take it in, just recall the memories that I had last year.”

TPC Twin Cities plays 7,431 yards as a par 71. This is one of ten TPC venues played on the 2026 PGA Tour schedule. Arnold Palmer designed TPC Twin Cities with the consultation of five-time PGA Tour winner and Minnesota native Tom Lehman.
The risk-reward par-4 17th hole is called Tom’s Thumb after Lehman. The course record of 60 (-11) is shared by Kitayama (Round 3, 2025) and Adam Svensson (Round 1, 2025).
Who to Watch at the 2026 3M Open
Kitayama will join fellow past champions Cameron Champ (2021), Tony Finau (2022) and Lee Hodges (2023) looking to become the first multiple-time winner of this event. Last week’s winner, Stefano Mazzoli, will also be making his first PGA Tour debut as an official member.
Preston Stout, Ryder Cowan and Sihan Sandhu are all college golfers who received three of the four sponsor exemptions. The last sponsor exemption went to Muzzy Donohue, who will make his PGA Tour debut because he won the 109th Minnesota State Open.
We predict Keith Mitchell will earn his second career win. He has two top-5 finishes in his last seven starts and finished fifth at this event in 2021 and 2023.
