This is the 25th edition of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour. This tournament is similar to the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on the PGA Tour. Each professional player is paired with an amateur, and the tournament is played on the three different golf courses. In this case, it’s the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie Golf Links and Kingsbarns Golf Links. The cut is after 54 holes, so each participant can play all three courses; for the final round on Sunday, everyone plays the Old Course.
In last year’s tournament, Robert MacIntyre defeated Tyrrell Hatton by four strokes in a tournament shortened to 54 holes due to heavy rain.
“I’ve not had the best relationship with the Old Course but to finally get across the line here, it was nice, and to do it back on home soil is always extra special,” Macintyre said.
