The 2026 playing of the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday will be the 50th anniversary of the tournament. The tournament is founded and hosted by Jack Nicklaus, who also designed the golf course.

This is the seventh of eight Signature Events during the 2026 PGA Tour season and will feature a 36-hole cut unlike other Signature Events this season.

Every year, the tournament is themed around a person, living or dead, who has contributed to the game of golf. This year’s nominee is David Graham, an 8-time PGA Tour winner; one of his wins of course includes the 1980 Memorial Tournament. He won the 1979 PGA Championship and the 1981 U.S. Open and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2015.

In the 2025 Memorial Tournament, Scottie Scheffler defeated Ben Griffin by four strokes to earn his second Memorial Tournament victory.

About Muirfield Village Golf Club

Muirfield Village Golf Club plays 7,569 yards as a par 72. It is the only golf course in the United States to host the Ryder Cup (1987), Solheim Cup (1998) and Presidents Cup (2013).

In 2020, the course underwent a renovation. The greens were redone, and some of them were moved. They also enlarged and deepened bunkers and shifted the tee boxes.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Memorial Tournament

The field consists of nine of the top-10 players in the FedExCup standings and Official World Golf Rankings. Six past champions of the tournament are in the field. Two of them – Billy Horschel and Matt Kuchar – received two of the four sponsor exemptions restricted to PGA Tour players.

Aaron Rai earned his way into the field as one of the AON Next 10 after winning the 2026 PGA Championship last month. Rai was asked if he feels different now as a golfer since becoming a major champion. This is what he had to say about it:

“But in terms of the last two weeks and being at this point, stood in front of you, I haven’t felt that different. There are definitely times where it’s crossed my mind of winning a major and what that means to me and other times where I haven’t thought about it for a few hours whilst I’m practicing, and then it hits me, and it’s like, wow, that’s incredible.”

We predict Xander Schauffele will pick up his 11th career PGA Tour win this week. He has four top-10 finishes in last six starts and has T25, T8 and T24 finishes in his last three starts at this event.
