The 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open is in the fall this year despite its previous four editions being played in the spring. The Mexico Open is one of six national opens on the PGA Tour schedule. This is the fifth of eight events in the FedExCup Fall season and the first of two consecutive weeks being played in Mexico.
In 2025, Brian Campbell defeated Aldrich Potgieter in a playoff for his first career win.
About Vidanta Vallarta
Vidanta Vallarta plays 7,337 yards as a par 71. The course designed by Greg Norman is hosting the tournament for the fifth straight year. The course underwent a renovation since the last playing of this event and was shortened by 100 yards with multiple hole redesigns. The fourth hole was shortened and hole 13 is now a drivable par 4 after being converted from a par 3.
The course record of 61 (-10) is shared by Potgieter and Jon Rahm.
Who to Watch at the 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open
The field is highlighted by U.S. Open Champion Wyndham Clark, Ben Griffin and Tom Kim. John Daly II will make his second career start on the PGA Tour after receiving a sponsor exemption. Mexican golfer Álvaro Ortiz also received a sponsor exemption and has played in every edition of this tournament.
“I really enjoy playing in front of my people. Really close to my hometown, really awesome. Really excited about this week and the golf course,” Ortiz said.
We predict Kim will earn his fifth career PGA Tour win. He is coming off a stellar President’s Cup showing and a gold medal at the Asian games. Kim won the Genesis Scottish Open in addition to three other top-10 finishes on the season.
