This is the second edition of the DP World India Championship, launched by global smart logistics provider DP World and the DP World Tour in 2025. The event is co-sanctioned between the DP World Tour and the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India. This is the eighth event of the Back 9 phase in the 2026 Race to Dubai, bringing the end of season into focus. Nine of the top ten in the Race to Dubai Rankings are in the field.
In last year’s event, Tommy Fleetwood defeated Keita Nakajima by two strokes to win for the eighth time on the DP World Tour.
“It’s lovely coming back. It’s always really nice coming back when you’ve had a great tournament the year before at that venue. Yeah winning a tournament with so many beautiful memories, that is lovely,” Fleetwood said about his return.
About Delhi Golf Club
Delhi Golf Club in New Delhi, India, plays 6,912 yards as a par 72. The course features extremely narrow fairways bordered by bushes. Last year, 58 out of 138 players decided to not use a driver during the week because it’s that narrow. The green complexes were increased in size in 2019 to allow for more movement.
The current course record at Delhi Golf Club is 60 (-12) set by Liang Wen-Chong in 2008.
Who to Watch at the 2026 DP World India Championship
Fleetwood is joined in the field by Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Aaron Rai and Ryan Fox. Saptak Talwar, Khalin H Joshi and Veer Ahlawat are three of the top Indian golfers in the field.
McIlroy is also looking to nail down his eighth Race to Dubai title, which would put him in the DP World Tour history books.
“It’s looking good,” McIlroy said about the course setup. “Just as tight as I remember from last year. It’s definitely a different golf course than what we’re used to playing. It doesn’t offer you a lot of room off the tee. A lot of irons and strategic play with your tee shots.”
We predict Eugenio Chacarra will earn his third victory of the season. He is coming off his third top five finish in list five starts.
