This is the fourth edition of the Genesis Championship since it joined the DP World Tour’s Global Schedule in 2023. The Genesis Championship is the closing event of the Back 9 in the 2026 Race to Dubai, and the final event of the regular DP World Tour season.
The top 100 players on the Race to Dubai Rankings after this event retain their DP World Tour membership for the 2027 season. The Top 70 players in the Race to Dubai Rankings will be eligible for the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, the first event of the DP World Tour Play-Offs.
In the 2025 Genesis Championship, Junghwan Lee earned his first career DP World Tour win on home soil.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Genesis Championship
South Korean golfers Lee, Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im highlight the field. Five players in the top 10 of the Race to Dubai Rankings are also in the field: last week’s winner Eugenio Chacarra, Casey Jarvis, Daniel Hiller, Ryan Fox and Jakob Skov Olesen.
We predict Kim will earn the victory in his home country of South Korea. He is coming off the best season of his career on the PGA Tour and was one of the best players on the International Team for the 2026 Presidents Cup.
“I’ve never won in South Korea, so I want to win so bad. I had so much pressure last year. I think this year will be better, but there’s still going to be a lot of pressure,” Kim said in a pre-tournament press conference.
Also looking to win is Open Champion Ryan Fox, who is in contention for the Harry Vardon Trophy. This trophy awards the male player with the lowest adjusted scoring average.
“I played a bunch in Korea early on in my professional career and it was always a very enjoyable place to come and play,” said Fox. “I’m surprised I’ve taken this long to come back, but I’m looking forward to the week.”
