Ruoning Yin made a final round push to win the 2026 Buick LPGA Shanghai for her second win this season.
After starting her final round trailing Hye-Jin Choi by two shots and Amy Yang by one shot, Yin started her round with a birdie on the first hole. Both Yang and Choi played their front nine over par, with Yin at even par. Yin dialed in her game with four birdies on the back nine. Choi’s two birdies were not enough, and Yin earned her seventh career victory.
After three top 10’s in her first 15 events, Yin has been spectacular in her last three starts, with a win at the FM Championship and a T4 finish at the CPKC Women’s Open. Yin said her reaction was calmer after winning recently.
“I still have emotions, but this time it is very calm, more calm than FM. You know, I think it’s dream come true to win at home, and I think I’m lucky to win it twice. I hope this is just the beginning,” she said.
Yin joins Danielle Kang as the only player to have multiple victories at the Buick LPGA Shanghai. With her win, she earned $480,000 and 500 points in the season-long competition, the Race to CME Globe. She also has surpassed $10 million in career earnings in just her fourth season on the LPGA Tour.
For Choi, this is her best finish of the season since her runner-up result at the Dow Championship in June.
The LPGA Tour continues its Asian swing next week at the BMW Ladies Championship in Korea. Sei Young Kim will look to defend her title at Pine Beach Golf Links.
