Pornanong Phatlum shot a final-round 65 (-7) to win the Hero Women’s Indian Open for the fourth time. She won this event in 2008, 2009, 2012 and now 2026.
Going into the final round, India’s Vani Kapoor led by one shot over Singapore’s Shannon Tan and Phatlum. Kapoor and Phatlum were tied after nine holes, with Tan six shots behind. Phatlum and Kapoor separated on the back nine after four bogeys from Kapoor and two more birdies from Phatlum. Phatlum finished the round with seven birdies and no bogeys.
“I didn’t think I was going to win again, but I tried my best. This was a fantastic round for me. Every putt on the front nine dropped in the hole. Today feels incredible,” said Phatlum.
The successful Thai golfer has accumulated 23 wins across multiple tours. Her most recent win was the 2024 Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic on the Epson Tour.
“This year, I almost retired from professional golf. But winning again gives me more motivation. I feel like I can still play on tour, and I’ll try my best again next year,” she said.
With her win, Phatlum earned €66,818.70 in prize money and Ladies European Tour membership. She will be in next week’s Wistron Ladies Open in Chinese Taipei.
Kapoor received the most points towards the LET’s Order of Merit this week with 320 points. This is her first top-10 finish this season.
“I gave it my best, 100%. Everything went according to plan. I don’t think I could have done anything more. I made a lot of birdies, especially considering the amount of pressure there was. I don’t think I would have made so many birdies in a single round before. I made a couple of mistakes too, but that’s part of the game. It’s better to accept it,” she said.
The Ladies European Tour continues next week at the Wistron Ladies Open in Chinese Taipei. The tournament will be held at Sunrise Golf and Country Club.
