After starting Saturday’s final round at the 2026 Lalla Meryem Cup down by six shots, Anna Huang charged up the leaderboard, beating Australian Kelsey Bennett by one shot.
This weekend was full of uncommon aspects for a Ladies European Tour event. From the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam hosting an LET event and the Trophy Hassan II on the PGA Tour Champions event to the tournament itself being 54 holes, the final day was full of chaos.
Going into the final round, it appeared to be Bennett’s tournament to lose. After two rounds of 68 (-5) and 65 (-8), she led by three shots over Pia Babnik and six shots over Anna Zanusso and Huang.
Bennett started her round shooting 2-under on the front nine, to be in a position to hold off any threats. However, Huang made her move, shooting 6-under on the front nine, including an eagle on the par-5 second. Huang cooled off on the back, but managed a 1-under on her back nine for a 66 (-7). Bennett struggled on the back nine and made three bogeys, including one on 18, to lose the tournament by one.
The 17-year-old Huang adds to her trophy cabinet after wins at the 2025 La Sella Open and 2025 Lacoste Ladies Open de France. This is her first victory this season. With her win, not only did she earn €67,500 in prize money and 500 points towards the Order of Merit rankings, but she also became the youngest player to win three times; she’s now 17 years old and broke Lydia Ko’s record.
In addition to the financial purse, Huang received a gold-plated purse from their Royal Highnesses Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco and Princess Lalla Meryem.
With her runner-up finish, it is a painful final round for Bennett, who was looking for her second win this season. After gaining a staggering 10.92 strokes putting in her first two rounds, she will look at both her driver and her putter for her final round, where she lost -2.82 strokes off the tee and -1.18 strokes putting.
The Ladies European Tour will be back in Europe next week at the Jabra Ladies Open de France. Sara Kouskova will look to defend her title at Evian Resort Golf Club.
