After starting the final round trailing Si Woo Kim by two shots and tied with Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark needed to go low. He delivered a final round 60 (-11) to win the 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Going into the final round, Kim was the favorite to win, leading Clark and Scheffler by two shots. Kim was on fire to start the tournament, carding a 64 (-7) on Thursday, and came up short of 59 on Friday with a 60 (-11). The world number one, Scheffler, has one win this season with three runner-up finishes.

After nine holes, Clark pulled one shot ahead of Scheffler and trailed Kim by one shot heading to the back nine. Clark turned up the heat, shooting a 28 (-7) to distance himself from the other contenders. Kim and Scheffler were unable to catch up to Clark, and he won his first event since the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

After struggling with his putter this season, Clark came into this week 133rd on tour in strokes gained putting. He would turn that around massively this week, finishing this week with 12.573 strokes gained putting, first in the field.

At one point rising inside the top ten in the world, Clark has struggled with his game in the last year, with his last top ten finish before this coming at the 2025 Open. Clark described the challenges he faced in the last year.

“It’s been a pretty heavy fall since being — I was even up to third in the world at some point in ’24. It’s frustrating, but that’s golf. I went through kind of a tough spurt, not swinging it well, not feeling comfortable with a lot of things, and I did a lot of work this off-season working on my golf swing. I started hitting it better, but wasn’t making the putts. Then, finally landed on a great putter, and then everything’s been kind of coming together,” he said.

With his finish, Clark earned $1,854,000 in prize money and 500 FedEx Cup points. He moved from 82nd to 34th in the standings.

It will be a disappointing finish for Si Woo Kim this week, finishing as the runner-up for the second time this season. This is Kim’s seventh finish inside the top ten this season. Regardless of the tough finish, Kim was positive after his round.

“I played solid, and then I think it’s best to put myself in contention. So that’s really positive. I think if I keep knocking on the door, something’s coming. I can feel it. Yeah, we’ll see. I played great. I think it’s the best golf I’ve ever played. I’m a little frustrated, but nothing I can do,” he said.

After a T14 finish, Blades Brown earned special temporary membership on the PGA Tour. He will play on the Korn Ferry Tour’s UNC Health Championship in Raleigh, North Carolina. Brown will have to decide whether to play on the PGA Tour or continue on the Korn Ferry Tour. He complimented the Korn Ferry Tour for the lessons he learned.

“The Korn Ferry Tour is awesome. For me, what it’s done for me is it’s provided me a pathway to the PGA Tour. The cool thing that I think it’s done is it’s taught me to go low. I can’t thank the Korn Ferry Tour enough for teaching me those valuable lessons because everybody out on the PGA Tour, they can go low,” he said.

Scheffler was nearly flawless this week, finishing the tournament with only one bogey. Scheffler extends his top-25 finish streak to 32. His last finish outside of the top 25 was the 2024 BMW Championship.

The PGA Tour remains in Texas next week at the Charles Schwab Challenge. 2025 winner, Ben Griffin, will look to defend his title at Colonial Country Club.
