Eugenio Chacarra defeated Oliver Lindell by one stroke to win the 2026 KLM Open. This is Chacarra’s second career win, his first after the 2025 Hero Indian Open.
Chacarra shared the lead at the start of the final round but a dropped shot on the third hole. Back-to-back birdies on the eighth and ninth holes gave him a three-stroke lead heading into the back nine.
Lindell pulled closer to Chacarra with a birdie on the 14th hole. Chacarra answered with a birdie of his own on the 14th hole to maintain his lead. Another bogey by Chacarra and Lindell’s birdie on the last hole left the pair tied atop the leaderboard.
Chacarra two-putted for birdie on the 18th hole, giving him his second career win. With this win, he moved to sixth in the Race to Dubai Rankings and closer to securing his PGA Tour card. He had this to say about his play on the final hole:
“Shot of my career, maybe! That was a little ‘tweener’ but with adrenaline I’m going to try to hit this one hard, it flew 10-15 longer than we thought. So, proud to see the ball land on the green and then took a nice first putt to give me a putt that you always dream of, a putt that you can’t really miss to win a tournament.”
Lindell has made the cut in all 17 of his starts this season. Including his finish this week, he has four top-10 finishes to rank 15th in the Race to Dubai Rankings.
The DP World Tour is off till the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. J.J. Spaun will defend his title against a Scottie Scheffler looking to complete the Career Grand Slam.
