The BMW International Open was first played in 1989 with BMW as the organizer every year. This is the final event of the European Swing portion of the 2026 season.

At the completion of this tournament, the top five DP World Tour members and ties not otherwise exempt by being in the top 20 of the Race to Dubai Rankings will qualify for The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale

In the 2025 BMW International Open, Daniel Brown won his second DP World Tour title on the way to securing his PGA Tour card for the 2026 season. He will be looking to make history as the only player to successfully defend his title at the BMW International Open.

“It’s nice but it’s obviously strange because I haven’t played a DP World Tour event since Mauritius so it’s nice to be back on the DP World Tour and nice to be back as a defending champion which I haven’t done before,” said Brown. “There’s not many times in your career where you can come back and defend.”

About Golfclub München Eichenried

Golfclub München Eichenried plays 7,354 yards as a par 72. This is the 30th time that this event has been played at this course. David Feherty shot the course record of 62 (-10) in 1989.

Who to Watch at the 2026 BMW International Open

Brown is joined in the field by six other past champions, including former major winners Martin Kaymer and Danny Willett. Eugenio Chacarra is looking to join Sir Nick Faldo and Seve Ballesteros in tour history for winning three straight events.

YouTube golfer Brad Dalke will be making his DP World Tour debut at the event. He played in the 2017 Masters as an amateur and helped University of Oklahoma win the 2017 NCAA Championship.

We predict German golfer Freddy Schott will win in his home country. He won earlier in the year in Bahrain and has another top-five finish on the year.
