Jackson Koivun won the 2026 3M Open, defeating Scottie Scheffler by three strokes. In his 13th career PGA Tour start and third as a professional, he earned his first career victory.

The 21-year-old rookie started the final round with a three-stroke lead. He stared down former major champions, Scottie Scheffler, Hideki Matsuyama and Brian Harman, shooting a final round 66 (-5) to win. Koivun was bogey-free throughout his final 42 holes, helping him set the 72-hole tournament scoring record at 259 (-25). He is the youngest American to win a PGA Tour event by multiple strokes since the 1932 WM Phoenix Open when Ralph Guldahl did so at 20 years old.

The former No.1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking earned his PGA Tour card via the PGA Tour University Accelerated program. He led Auburn University to National Championship titles in 2024 and 2026. In those two seasons, he won the Haskins, Nicklaus and Hogan player of the year awards, becoming the first collegiate golfer to do so.

This is Scheffler’s fifth runner-up finish of the year and 11th top-5 finish; his finish this week put him 794 points ahead of Matt Fitzpatrick atop the FedExCup points list.

During the second round on Friday, Michael Kim joined the record books by shooting 59 (-12) to shoot the 16th sub-60 score in PGA Tour history. He had 12 birdies in his round, eight of them coming from 10+ feet. He finished T10 at 17-under with Gary Woodland and Seamus Power.

The PGA Tour heads to the penultimate stop of the 2026 regular season in Detroit for the Rocket Classic next week. In the 2025 Rocket Classic, Aldrich Potgieter claimed his first PGA Tour title by defeating Max Greyserman and Chris Kirk in a playoff. Potgieter will have to defend his title against the likes of Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Chris Gotterup and Xander Schauffele.
