The Husqvarna British Masters is the start of the “Back 9” phase of the 2026 Race to Dubai. This is the 48th playing of the event since the DP World Tour started in 1972 and marks the start of the qualification process for the 2027 European Ryder Cup team. Captain Luke Donald is one of several Englishmen in the field.
“I think we always enjoyed growing up on the shores, coming back home and playing in front of great crowds. Obviously, The Belfry has some iconic memorable stories for me as a kid watching Ryder Cups, and quite relevant to how I find my position as captain now,” Donald said.
The 2025 British Masters saw Alex Noren break a seven-year winless drought by defeating Kazuma Kobori and Nicolai Højgaard by one stroke.
About The Brabazon Course at The Belfry Hotel & Resort
The Brabazon Course plays 7,363 yards as a par 72. The resort has hosted this event six consecutive years and previously from 2006-08. The Belfry has held 23 DP World Tour events and four Ryder Cups.
The golf course has two signature holes. The 10th hole is a drivable par-4 with water running along the right side of the fairway. The 18th hole has water players must take on with their drive and approach shots. The green is long, narrow and triple-tiered.
Who to Watch at the 2026 Husqvarna British Masters
Seven of the past nine British Masters Champions are in the field. The last two winners on the DP World Tour, Jeff Winther and Scott Jamieson, are also in the field.
We predict Tyrrell Hatton, coming off the end of the LIV Golf season, will earn his ninth career win on the DP World Tour. He won the 2020 BMW PGA Championship in his home country and finished T18 at this event in 2024.
