Jeff Winther won the 2026 Danish Golf Championship for his second career win on the DP World Tour. He defeated a group of five players by three strokes to secure victory in his home country of Denmark.
The 38-year-old’s only other win was the 2021 Mallorca Golf Open. Coming into this week, his only top-10 finish of the season was a T6 at the 2026 DS Automobiles 83 Open d’Italia.
Winther joins Rasmus Højgaard as the only Danish golfers to win their country’s national open. Højgaard won the 2023 Danish Golf Championship by defeating Nacho Elvira in a playoff, and in 2025 came in second. This time around, Højgaard took the lead on the 13th hole with a chip-in eagle but made bogey on the last hole to settle for a second-place finish for the second consecutive year.
Eight different players held at least a share of the lead during the final round. Winther came from four strokes behind the leader to win in front of a home crowd. His eagle on the 16th hole gave him a two-stroke lead with two holes to play.
He had this to say about the support of the fans: “I feel a lot of love from the crowds and all the Danes support all the Danes … The crowds carried me all week, it’s been unbelievable.”
Up next, the DP World Tour heads to Scotland for the Nexo Championship. Grant Forrest won the 2025 Nexo Championship for his second career DP World Tour win. He will look to defend his title against a field that includes Patrick Reed, Eugenio Chacarra and Casey Jarvis.
