Scottie Scheffler is the 2026 FedExCup champion after winning the TOUR Championship by three strokes over Viktor Hovland. This was Scheffler’s third win of the season and 22nd of his career.
“I think days like today are really fun. To come from behind and be able to win tournament is a really cool feeling. There was a lot of talented guys in front of me on the leaderboard. I was fortunate to get off to a good start and put myself in the mix,” Scheffler said.
Since the beginning of 2022, Scheffler’s 22 wins are twice as many as the next closest, Rory McIlroy, who has 11 in that same span. Scheffler now sits T29 on the all-time list, tying him with Jim Barnes, Johnny Farrell and Raymond Floyd. The $10 million that Scheffler earned with this win moves him atop the PGA Tour’s career money list, passing Tiger Woods.
This is the fifth time in his career that Scheffler entered the TOUR Championship ranked No. 1 in the FedExCup standings. In seven starts at the TOUR Championship, he has finished T6 or better six times. Scheffler (2024, ’26) joins McIlroy (2016, ’19,’22) and Woods (2007, ’09) as the only players with multiple FedExCup titles.
Scheffler won two weeks ago at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and in January at the American Express. He joins Matt Fitzpatrick, Wyndham Clark and Chris Gotterup as the only players with three wins this season. Along with his three wins, Scheffler had 10 other top-five finishes that included five runner-ups. He made the cut in 19 of 20 events with every finish being in the top-25.
Hovland, the 2023 FedExCup champ, finished alone in second place after leading by one entering the final round. Ryan Gerard, in his TOUR Championship debut, finished third at 12-under for his fourth top-three finish of the season.
The Presidents Cup International Team’s six automatic qualifiers are now set when the TOUR Championship is concluded. The six players heading to Medinah Country Club to play for Captain Geoff Ogilvy are Si Woo Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, Ryan Fox, Tom Kim, Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott. Captain Oglivy and Captain Brandt Snedeker of the U.S. Team will make their six captain’s picks Tuesday.
The PGA Tour is off for two weeks before it returns for the inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. It is the first tournament in the 2026 FedExCup Fall portion of the schedule. After the eight events in the fall, the top 100 players in the FedExCup will be finalized. These players will earn exempt status into full-field events and a spot in The Players Championship. The tournament winners will receive a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour and spots into The Players, The Sentry and major championships that invite PGA Tour winners.
