Eugenio Chacarra won the 2026 DP World India Championship, his third victory of the season and fourth of his career on the DP World Tour. He also won the 2026 KLM Open and the 2026 DS Automobiles 83 Open d’Italia earlier this year.
Poor weather on Saturday forced the third round to be pushed to Sunday morning, so Chacarra played 25 holes that day. After the third round, he held a five-stroke lead with a 63 (-9). His final round of 70 (-2) gave him a two-stroke win over Daniel Hiller.
Chacarra has been playing through injury the last two weeks after fracturing a toe in a freak accident at home. The injury didn’t slow him down, though, as he finished T2 last week at the 2026 Open de España and won this week to take the top spot on the Race to Dubai Rankings. He overtook Patrick Reed, who has been atop the rankings after winning back-to-back earlier in the year.
Including the win this week, Chacarra has four top-10 finishes in his last six starts. If Chacarra goes on to win the Race to Dubai, he will join Jon Rahm and Seve Ballesteros as the only Spanish golfers with that achievement.
“I wanted to get one quickly to get up on the Rankings, and I played really good,” Chacarra said post round.
With the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India Order of Merit coming to a close at the co-sanctioned event, long-time leader of the Race to DP World Tour Championship, Saptak Talwar, was crowned the season-long winner. Talwar earns a DP World Tour card for the 2027 season, giving him the chance to build on the foundation he has laid playing on the HotelPlanner Tour in recent seasons.
The last event of the DP World Tour regular season is next week in Cheonan, South Korea, for the 2026 Genesis Championship. In the 2025 Genesis Championship, South Korean golfer Junghwan Lee defeated Nacho Elvira and Laurie Canter by three strokes to win for the first time on the DP World Tour. South Korean stars Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im highlight a field that also includes Chacarra, Ryan Fox and Casey Jarvis.
