Mikael Lindberg defeated Daniel Rodrigues and Guido Migliozzi by two to win the 2026 Turkish Airlines Open

The 33-year-old Swede was playing in his 70th career start on the DP World Tour. Lindberg used three birdies in a four-hole stretch to take the lead over Rodrigues. Heading to the back nine, Lindberg maintained his lead before extending it with back-to-back birdies on holes 13 and 14.

Lindberg’s bogey at the 15th brought Rodrigues within one stroke of the lead, but Rodrigues couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity and made a bogey on the 16th. Two pars on the final holes gave Lindberg a final round of 69 and his first career win.

Along with this win, Lindberg clinched his spot in the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club for being atop the Asian Swing Rankings. It will be his first ever major. Last week’s winner, Bernd Wiesberger, and Jordan Gumberg also qualified after finishing second and third in the standings. For Gumberg, it will be his first major since the 2023 U.S. Open; for Wiesberger, it is his first major appearance since the 2022 Open Championship.

Lindberg had this to say about achieving his lifelong goal. “This is like a dream come true really. I’ve been dreaming about this for so many years and to be able to pull this one off, it’s been a very tough week.”

Next week kicks off the European Swing portion of the schedule at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship in Spain. It is a new event on the DP World Tour’s 2026 schedule. Angel Ayora, Jorge Campillo and Eugenio Chacarra headline a strong contingent of Spaniard golfers competing in their home country.
